 Vitalise is a national charity providing
holidays for disabled and visually impaired people and breaks for
carers.We have five holiday centres around the country:- Skylarks in Nottinghamshire, Jubilee Lodge in Essex, Netley Waterside House in Hampshire, Sandpipers in Merseyside and Churchtown in Cornwall. Every year, 5,600 trained volunteers work alongside nurses and care staff to provide on call care around the clock, giving support to disabled guests and peace of mind to their carers. Our breaks include numerous excursions to places of interest in specially adapted vehicles. We also run special interest weeks at our centres, catering for everyone, ranging from holistic weeks to fishing and theatre. A staggering 28% of disabled people and their carers have not had a break in over 12 months. Imagine if you were on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and never took a holiday. At present, we are able to offer 7,000 breaks a year, but with your help, we can do more. Vitalise subsidises each break by £352 per week. In order to continue, we would welcome your support. A break is not a luxury, it's a necessity. |
