Northern Ireland sees 8,700 new cases
of cancer every year and around 3,700 people annually die as a
result of the disease. This means that one in three of us will be
diagnosed with cancer at some stage in our lives and one in five of
us will die from it. The Ulster Cancer Foundation is a local charity, working in Northern Ireland for over thirty years to combat cancer. We provide immediate care for cancer patients and their families, cancer prevention programmes and public campaigns, and support local research, searching for a cure for cancer and for new and better treatments for the disease. |
