Every three minutes someone breaks a bone as a result of osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis causes bones to become so porous that they can break easily often after only a minor bump or fall. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 12 men will develop osteoporosis during their lifetime. Without treatment, osteoporosis can cause painful and disabling fractures, particularly in the wrist, hip and spine.

The National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) is the only national charity dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of this fragile bone disease. The NOS has been supporting those affected and raising awareness of this fragile bone disease for 18 years. We are committed to increasing the knowledge and treatment of osteoporosis, and as part of this aim we fund research projects looking at all aspects of the disease.

Your support will help us to fund these vital projects, offering hope to millions of men and women across the UK.
