Meningitis Research Foundation’s
vision is a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.
The charity funds research to prevent meningitis and
septicaemia, and to improve survival rates and outcomes. The
Foundation promotes education and awareness to reduce death
and disability, and gives support to people affected.
Meningitis and septicaemia can affect anyone of any age, but
babies, children and young adults are most at risk.
More than one in ten people who get the diseases will die
and many more are left with a range of disabilities and
after effects that dramatically alter their lives.
The charity has current and future research commitments of
just over £1.1 million and has spent almost £13 million on
research since it was founded in 1989.
The Foundation works to raise awareness of the diseases,
focussing on the people who are at most risk, and those who
care for them, with the aim of saving lives.
Meningitis Research Foundation’s Freefone 24 hour helpline -
080 8800 3344 - is there at any time for anyone with
