Co-operation Ireland works to advance mutual understanding and
respect between the people of Northern Ireland and of the Republic
of Ireland to build a shared and peaceful future. We do this by
giving people the opportunity to meet and share experiences and
opinions with those of a different religion or tradition.
Building bridges requires managing contact between the different
groups and developing trust.
Each year Co-operation Ireland helps over 20,000 people to meet and
build friendships. This includes:
-
Linking
over 70 primary and secondary schools on a North-South basis
-
Organising
over 100 cross community and cross-border projects involving
thousands of people.
-
Working
with people from over 90 cities, towns and villages creating
civic pride and cross-border co-operation.
